Dhana Taylor serves as the volunteer Executive Director and a dedicated member of the Board of Directors. With a career spanning over 35 years in animal welfare and clinical care, Dhana brings an unparalleled depth of expertise to the organization’s mission of rescuing and rehabilitating felines in the Coachella Valley.
A highly skilled Veterinary Technician, Dhana currently serves as the Pharmacy and Facilities Manager at VCA Desert Animal Hospital in Palm Springs. Her professional background is extensive, including a decade of leadership at VCA and previous experience at Redlands Animal Hospital. Her technical proficiency—ranging from surgical assistance and anesthesia monitoring to laboratory analysis—provides Kittyland with critical medical oversight, ensuring that every cat in the sanctuary receives professional-grade care.
Over her six-year tenure with Kittyland, Dhana has been instrumental in the rescue’s evolution. She works alongside the board to manage the three-and-a-half-acre sanctuary, which remains the only brick-and-mortar shelter in the area dedicated exclusively to felines. Beyond her administrative duties, Dhana is deeply involved in the daily operations of the rescue, from managing the facility's unique cat infirmary to facilitating adoptions for senior and special-needs cats.
Dhana’s lifelong commitment to animals and her "boots-on-the-ground" experience as a medical professional make her a cornerstone of the Kittyland leadership team. She remains passionate about expanding the rescue's impact through community education and the continued development of the Desert Hot Springs sanctuary.
